Teaching

WiddessVoice tuition ... a great way to develop yourself, your voice and your singing ability.  Anne's one-to-one sessions are designed to help an adult sing with confidence to encourage joining a group, or a choir, or to develop the art of singing a song solo at family gatherings or at a public event.   Whether you are a complete beginner with the "can't sing" notion or an "I can sing but not in front of anyone", to the voice that needs gentle adjustment to achieve more power and stamina, Anne will create a series of one-to-one sessions around the person and the voice.

Teaching philosphy  Anne is fascinated with how the body makes vocal sound and its capacity to express deep fear and great joy.  In her teaching she touches the voice using movement, breath, sound and text.  Working with Anne you will learn how to listen to your own voice, to hear where you need to work with it to express your own individual sound.  Focusing on pitch and resonance Anne will work with you to develop these qualities to enhance the tonal quality of your voice.

Vocal expertise  Anne has developed her vocal teaching knowledge through performance, training, and experiance working with a number of voice practitioners: Vocal Development and Choir Leader Training : Frankie Armstrong and Darien Pritchard (NVPN); Music theatre specialists Lore Lixenberg, Mezzo-Soprano and director, London; Frances M Lynch, Soprano, Electric Voice Theatre, London.  Voice and Theatre: David Goldsworthy, Roy Hart Theatre, Malarargues, France; Margaret Pikes, Roy Hart Theatre, London; Voice and Clowning: Vivienne Gladwell, Nose to Nose, UK;   Caitlin Matthews, Celtic sound healer, Oxford.
